The first consultation lasts approximately 1 hour. A detailed medical history is taken including the presenting complaint(s), any medications, diet, lifestyle and relevant family history. Simple measurements such as pulse and blood pressure may be recorded and other clinical examinations performed if necessary. Please bring a list of your current medications/supplements for clarification and any relevant test results. A diagnosis will be made based on the findings and in some cases you may be referred to your GP, specialist or another healthcare practitioner. A proposed treatment plan will then be discussed including the anticipated length of treatment.
A follow-up consultation usually occurs 2 weeks later and lasts approximately 30 minutes. This is an opportunity to discuss how you are finding the herbal medicine and the practitioner can assess progress and make any necessary changes to your prescription. Subsequent appointments are then scheduled every 4-6 weeks.
Express appointments (15 minutes) are available for acute conditions such as coughs, colds, flu and skin damage.
All consultations are fully confidential and data is stored in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
